I often get “the 10 best 4ks you have to own” listicles in my newsfeed and it seems odd - buy what you like and it’ll look a bit nicer in 4k.

    From what I’ve read:

    • 2001 and most of Kubrick’s films
    • Dunkirk and most of Christopher Nolan’s films
    • Dune
    • Lawrence of Arabia
    • Lord of the Rings
    • John Wick
    • The Thing

I would toss Pacific Rim on there, I love that film and the colors and action and set pieces look great in 4K HDR and Del Toro engineered a lot of the film to express what the character is feeling or thinking based on the lighting and colors/saturation.

Recently got Batman Returns and Ghost in the Shell in 4K HDR and they are really well done. Best in my collection despite being movies released in the early 90s.

Blu-ray.com will give you ratings on the audio/visual quality.
