minus-squareFfaerieOxide@kbin.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up1·10 months agoHow was it not on the battlefield? Vietnam shot Americans. America didn’t like being shot. America pulled out. Does it have to be a football game with refs for you to count it as a legitimate win? What point are you even trying to make, “If it wasn’t for those pussies in Washington America would have won!”? The US lost the will to prosecute the war due to unacceptable losses Did that not happen in battle?

Except for Kent State where they killed their own people, what Vietnam deaths happened in The US? If killing the enemy on the battlefield causes your enemy to lose the will to fight, in what world is that not defeating an opponent militarily?
minus-squareRapidcreekOPlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·10 months agoHas nothing to do with stacking bodies… The Vietnam war ended because the people of the US forced it to end, not for anything the Vietnamese did. People demonstrating constantly forced politicians to end the war.

WHO inflicted those “unacceptable losses” that caused the American public to want to pull out? What difference does it make how a losing army loses a war if that losing army lost?
