My partner filled with umbrage,/ Enlightened me with a warning./ If she sees one on my visage,/ Shred the pockets would she, in the morning,/ With tiny scissors she has around the house./ I’ve placed an order, she does not know, the poor thing. / WE SHALL SEE how ends this game of cat and spouse./

I wear compression pants that are basically leggings for men. They’re amazing and yes, they have a pocket. I usually get the TSLA brand on Amazon.

I don’t know how relevant this is. In the UK 75% of all road accident fatalities are male. They also make up the majority of casualties.

Does the Traffic Injury prevention report account for deaths. It could be the case woman are being injured where men are more likely to have died. It could also be the smaller sample size compared to men influencing the results. The article only talks about individual people experience not the actual statics.

I can’t imagine it being that different from the UK results. Where men are dieing at three times the rate of women. If you want to save more life’s, male test dummies are more useful. The people pushing this issue seems to be a startup trying to sell million dollar dummies.

What women underwear would be large enough to have a pocket? Most are dinky small even if the wearer isn’t.

I don’t get this bs response. Too often have I seen my female friends buy terrible clothing. Yes women’s clothing fucking sucks, but some women manage to find even worse articles than the regular flimsy thin fabric that still manages to feel tight even when it is too big for you. Extra points for poor insulation and confusing parts. They enable that impractical pocketless shit.

I found clothes that better accomodate my wide ass in the men’s section, then I ever have in the woman’s section. I found the best swimming top, in the sports bra section as the swimming gear was just the same flimsy design. Who in their right minds would buy a top marketed for surfing, when the thing is only held together by a weak elastic rope made from the same fabric? You fall off once and your top disappears from existance.

I found that clothing in the woman’s section is uncomfortable, even when it’s too big for me. At least in the men’s, I find clothes that are comfortable, even if it looks bad on me. I’m done with looking good.

At least in the case of the women I’ve lived with: they just buy cheap shit. Mostly shein.

The market for “cheap, dogshit clothing that disintegrates in a few months and doesn’t have basic amenities like pockets” is much larger with women, that’s why the entire fast fashion industry exists.

For real. Cheap shit is cheap shit. And I agree women enable that shit. Though I found that clothes in the same price range, generally have better quality in the men’s. Thicker fabric, insulation, less see through, pockets, etc.

What are briefs but a sling for your thing and a cover for your ass cheeks? I went back to them a few years ago after wearing boxers most of my life and they’re a total game changer. They keep everything snugly cradled and they don’t get bunched up around the edges like boxers when you’re a chubby dude like me.

My problem with those is they push your junk up and out a bit. Sure, it makes your bulge huge but the edge of the hole into the pocket is always there on the underside of your sack. Like a steering wheel in my pants, it drives me nuts.

In an era where women have been grappling with the pocket predicament for years, Hanes seems to have missed the memo. The company’s decision to provide men with the luxury of pockets in even more male clothing has left women pondering the inequality of men having access to cargo shorts while most of women’s clothing has no pockets at all.

Literally nobody is going to stop you from trying on and buying cargo pants. You’ve always had access to cargo pants. You just need to buy what you want, and not what society seems you are allowed to.

My girlfriend is always wearing things like jeans and cargos pants and stuff. So you obviously can get them. Oh and hoodies, so many different hoodies, and they all have pockets.

She’s wares a petite so I doubt their men’s clothing because I don’t think men’s sizes would go that small.

They make them, it’s just each company that focuses on making them ends up going under, with a new one eventually taking their place, because not enough people are buying these designs.

I find more and more in my life that decisions made by very opinionated “designers” often dominate much more than most people realize, and I honestly think that’s a fairly big reason behind why a lot of name brand stores skimp on the pockets. God forbid someone be seen wearing their Women’s premium shorts with—gasp—a phone bulge?

It’s kind of one of those things where convention follows convention for convention’s sake, and likewise with innovations where it’s safe for the bottom line. It’s really hard to start a fashion brand; it’s a really, really oversaturated market. The issue is that if a company makes the “we have pockets!” its whole shtick, that that’s a very specific sticking point and doesn’t necessarily mean what they make is good.

I also don’t think I need to mention the side benefit to clothing brands that less pocket space makes handbags a de-facto requirement and thus another thing to be sold. Again, of course you can buy whichever clothes of which men’s will have pockets abound, but like, there’s a certain base level of wanting something fashionable that I think is reasonable, and that most men’s clothing fails to achieve even for their target gender.

Men’s clothing sucks ass. Walk into H&M, there’s 500 m² of women’s clothing for literally everything you can imagine, then there’s a little corner with: jeans (blue), jeans (dark blue), jeans (light blue), t-shirt (gray), t-shirt (dark gray), suit (black).

Then the neckbeards on Lemmy who exclusively wear the aforementioned fashion graveyard are like “just buy women’s clothing”, completely missing the fact that the average man does not even fit in most women’s clothes. And even if he does, it’ll probably be with a super saggy waistline and chest area (or saggy everything because most clothes assume tall=fat).

Even as a trans woman after more than 2 years of hormone (so absolutely not looking like man), finding women clothing that fits me is really difficult. It’s usually too narrow at the shoulders for instance, and too large at the hips

It does suck that you have to choose 2 between pockets, affordable, and cute. I never really considered buying anything other than cheap khakis for when I want to dress nice and cheap jeans and cargo pants for when I want to dress utilitarian. It would be nice to have cargo pants in anything other than khaki, black, or jeans.

          I do?

I buy cute clothes with pockets when I can, but they can be hard to find in person especially for more form fitting wear that I kind of need to be able to try on to know whether it looks good on my figure.

Some men’s skinny jeans suffice and do have bigger pockets, but often the overall piece shape/cut pattern is often just a bit off and, to be blunt, makes my behind look flat.

I do also have a couple pairs of baggy men’s jeans; my pair of men’s Ariats are arguably my favorite because they’re comfy but still well-decorated/ornamented.
