My main beef with that MediaTek X2x platform is the hella dated hacked up kernel it was stuck with which meant the damn thing never got mainlined so my Planet Gemini has been nothing but a paperweight.

I dont want android, I want linux damnit.

I own 3 devices with the X20. A Chuwi Hi 9 Air, Vernee Apollo Lite and a Sharp Z2. The Vernee and Sharp can absolutly hang with Snapdragon 820 but get handly beaten by Kirin 950 and Exynos 8890 when it comes to everyday performance. The Chuwi Hi 9 Air though is often slow as molassis. Overall, very mixed bag.

And yeah, forget gaming - GPU is really underpowered.

What games at best could you play on that hardware?

To give you a rough idea - most 2D things like Stardew Valley, CoC or Evoland work fine, simple 3D games also mostly work (GTA 3, Subway Surfers and Riptide GP Rengedes on Medium), Minecraft however slows down a lot and hovers between 20 - 30 FPS.

Interesting. I guess Titan Quest, grimvalor, asphalt, and other titles are out, too.

Minecraft is a cpu bound game. The performance depends not on your GPU but your cpu. I guess the X20 did not have enough oomph for stable 60fps gaming.
