Unrelated ramble: This election reminds me of the leadup to the election that Ventura won in Minnesota with 2 guys everyone hated leaving it ripe for a weird third party to win. I don’t suspect RFK could pull it off, because I think Ventura’s celebrity and centrism was an important part of that formula.

But having a shared thing you’re against doesn’t mean you are both for the same thing. What those types are for is antithetical to me. They want some kind of theocratic patriarchy, they oppose social welfare, they view medicine as a conspiracy, they the idea of individual rights if those rights give power to anyone who doesn’t fit their narrow mould, etc

Even if a third party candidate won the popular vote, it would be nearly impossible to win the electoral college. If RFK wins any states, it will be unlikely that anyone gets to 270, and then the house picks the president and senate picks VP.
