Looks like we upset a few too many kkkanada residents over at lemmy.ca. I didn’t see a post about this on here, so I thought I’d go ahead and make one.

2 of 4 reasons why are basically just PPB lol, and a third is for calling for executions of landlords mao-aggro-shining

            The quote

In the United States, for over a hundred years, the ruling interests tirelessly propagated anticommunism among the populace, until it became more like a religious orthodoxy than a political analysis. During the Cold War, the anticommunist ideological framework could transform any data about existing communist societies into hostile evidence. If the Soviets refused to negotiate a point, they were intransigent and belligerent; if they appeared willing to make concessions, this was but a skillful ploy to put us off our guard. By opposing arms limitations, they would have demonstrated their aggressive intent; but when in fact they supported most armament treaties, it was because they were mendacious and manipulative. If the churches in the USSR were empty, this demonstrated that religion was suppressed; but if the churches were full, this meant the people were rejecting the regime’s atheistic ideology. If the workers went on strike (as happened on infrequent occasions), this was evidence of their alienation from the collectivist system; if they didn’t go on strike, this was because they were intimidated and lacked freedom. A scarcity of consumer goods demonstrated the failure of the economic system; an improvement in consumer supplies meant only that the leaders were attempting to placate a restive population and so maintain a firmer hold over them. If communists in the United States played an important role struggling for the rights of workers, the poor, African-Americans, women, and others, this was only their guileful way of gathering support among disfranchised groups and gaining power for themselves. How one gained power by fighting for the rights of powerless groups was never explained. What we are dealing with is a nonfalsifiable orthodoxy, so assiduously marketed by the ruling interests that it affected people across the entire political spectrum.

Is worth a read, it is by a user slandering Hexbear, turns out:

    @init@lemmy.ml

Haven’t we learned our lesson about unprovoked wars after watching East Europe for the past year and a half??

@emizeko - not sure if you’re a Russian troll or a poor American doing the real fascists’ work for them–but I’m sorry for you my friend and hope the best for you. If you missed it in my other comments, I’m currently serving in the US military and am very confident that Western media at large is on the money, and that a novice OSINTer could refute the fanfic you posted. Best wishes.

    and

Oh I’m familiar with it. My entire family operates this way. It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad. I joined the military due to my parents fears about Russia and China invading or some shit. Now I’m the liberal because I’ve actually educated myself, and here they are defending the very things they were terrified of 25 years ago just to own the libs.

    Followed by:

My mother was all into the satanic panic BS and Linin’s words about winning the next war via education and indoctrination of youth in our schools. Dad turned out, interestingly enough, to be closeted gay when they divorced because he was also an abusive sack of shit father.

Good that there was a divorce, but the setting of the phrases so close together is bad for online discourse.

The ironic part is that he is so indoctrinated from his small hometown upbringing that he still votes Republican-only and hides the fact his business partner and co-owner of his father’s ranch he inherited is also his boyfriend, or at this point, common law husband. He still hides it because the small community he lives in would probably not be very welcoming. The funny thing is that, at least before it was revealed he was hiding a boyfriend, he was hugely homophobic.

It took me literal years to deprogram, in no small part from reddit, traveling through the military, and seeing the hypocrisy of modern Christianity. It’s sad that so many will never question the values they grew up with and will turn into the next generation ignoramus.

    Top Comment:

they behave like it’s 4chan or some shit discord server,

    Second Comment:

Their post about our defederation is absolutely unhinged, I must say – top keks if you can handle reading it.

Every liberal accusation is an admission.

    Bonus quote:

It is unlikely that anyone believes what they say, as why would you waste time talking about something you believe in?

I wish all instances would. They’re the most disingenuous and stupid users I’ve ever seen. They might as well just fling their own poop at people’s houses because that’s the level of value they’re bringing to the internet discourse.

They aren’t here to discuss anything in good faith, they’re here to brigade and harass. That’s all I’ve seen from them.

    They are freaks of nature.

TLDR: if you want to know if an instance will defed hexbear, check its instance block list for lemmygrad.

been making stray comments here and there about this, I’m telling y’all if an instance defeds lemmygrad it is 1000% going to defed hexbear, we’re calmer and more solitary than y’all, so all the accusations of trolling or brigading or just generally being “ebil tankies” against the grad can and will be used against hexbear too. I fully expect .world to defed lemmygrad in the next couple months too once they’re finally got their shit under control. Is what it is, hopefully normal users still manage to find us and switch to instances that aren’t ran by anticommunists.

I do see that lemmygrad is more aligned to some ML types, while hexbear is a bit wider, which does make for a difference. But it doesn’t seem the strain of communism is the main problem for the de-federating people.

However we have a more diverse set of opinions in our user base, since we don’t ban people that quick (i.e. in terms of war in Russia we have some revolutionary defeatists, some anti imperialists who favour a weakening of the imperialist NATO (which really irks other instance admins, etc.).

To moderate a sub sub sub comment of a main thread is a bit funny though.

When I saw that thread last night, I was expecting the links to the “offenses” to be wild. But then it was just bathroom humor, and a singular call to execute landlords, which I found hilarious.

I just do not understand the lack of humor of a lot of people, on these instances. You’d swear their lives are devoid of happiness.

A lot of those are pretexts for defederating I think

What rubs them the wrong way is our position on various issues (despite them being far more deeply argued and sourced than the paltry answers we usually get)

Also, admittedly and to a lesser degree, likely the fact we’re numerous and terminally online so anytime something dunkable is posted even the small subset of online hexbear users that see it appear on their feed and interact must look like an army to them

      Step 1: Execute landlords

Step 2: Land doesn’t actually get properly distributed and a new landlord rises

      Step 3: ???

      Step 4: Profit?

(Step 5: Revolution all over again)

Edit: /s in case it’s not clear. sigh Poe’s Law sucks 🤦‍♂️

Uhh excuse me I’m sorry what was step 2 again??

they also purposefully obscure and ignore the distinction between personal property (held for use) and private property (held for profit)

In my experience, it has genuinely not occurred to most liberals that those are different things, but then when presented with the distinction they pretend not to have heard it.

My experience is that liberals, upon hearing the difference, will start conflating the two. Like they’ll say their house is both personal and private, since they intend to use it as an investment.

What a miserable way to see housing

The Maoist uprising against the landlords was the largest and most comprehensive proletarian revolution in history, and led to almost totally-equal redistribution of land among the peasantry.

That is the one thing the admins of those instances could really enforce, just ban people for usage of it and be done with it, but no instead ban 20k people.
