I know it’s the internet, and fucking discord to boot, like seriously where is our burning Clive? But I’m not gonna go outside to yell at people about weird books, so unless any of you knows of an awesome book club near me or a forum online or something, we’re stuck with this. And yes, it’s the book servers again.

You would think queer spaces might be more accepting of leftist views, lenin-dont-laugh but I keep getting owned for not licking boots basically. First there was this based classic:

which stemmed from someone really liking the idea of french canadian cyberpunk, surely the apex of liberalism. Aside from that quote in the screenshot I wasn’t really rude though, I didn’t even swear at em. I got banned essentially for a cross of “omg ur so rude” and “we can do whatever we want” though, which is just as well cause fuck em I guess. You wanna take pride in that identity, seeya nerd.

But just recently I got in all kinds of hot water again for this epic banger:

The context here was just talking about tone tags, and someone else has whined and complained about not wanting to use a reference sheet for tone indicators because they don’t know what they mean, lol.

See this isn’t like I’m bursting through the wall and saying ANOTHER KKKCRACKA DOWN at grandpa’s funeral, I’m not even swearing, it’s so much less than that. I’m generally pretty content to let small disagreements slide or whatever, but it’s always the most agreeable shit these people decide to attack me on. Like no, I am not gonna back down from saying “canada bad” and I’m not gonna back down from saying “at the point NTs won’t even read tone indicators, I don’t give a fuck”, surely these are like the least offensive positions in the world. How could people take PERSONAL OFFENSE to this shit? And yet.

So I want to ask if there are any more mitigating strategies I can use to not get rekt by angry lib mods? This shit is stressful and exhausting, literally not trying to cause a fight with this stuff. I guess I’m not shocked that libs love tone-policing autistic transfems no matter how fucking nice you are, though =)

“Like being french isn’t bad enough, have to be kanadian too. Worst of both worlds”

I mean, I obviously agree but you’ll never make any friends with anybody right of a blood red communist if you talk like this to non-communist white people you’re not close friends with

Honestly even with most POC Westerners you will put them off severely, they identify way more with white liberals than they would with any communist

maybe this is a european thing, but i have never in my life heard any normie be offended at bullying the french/english/dutch/spanish/etc. ever. western european countries are always on the table to clown on (amongst the under 50s crowd at least). i would have figured kkklanada was similar tbh, given that its also part of the imperial core

No, Canadians don’t even recognize themselves as an imperial power at all. Nobody knows of any of their past or current crimes es against humanity so they’re extremely patriotic

And Americans and Canadians both respect Europe for being what they think is the peak pinnacle of human society in terms of culture and progressiveness

Oh this is the comment I was looking for/expecting!

Yes, I agree, and when I said it I sort of knew I was gonna get owned anyway, because the server sucks, was so full of fragile white people, I was just done with it. So that one isn’t shocking to me, and I coulda easily avoided it by not saying. I don’t make it a habit to go around loudly wishing unlimited death on the first world all the time in public…

Also though, who jumps to the valiant defense of the french and canadians? Do I wanna be friends with white people that fragile, really??? I was already seeing your point about most POC westerners not being pleased with this sort of thing though, I guess I kinda put my foot in my mouth that way, big shock to nobody…

Also I have no friends anyway, so lol, lmao.

In the server that screencap #2 is from, I’ve kept the fuckin agitprop under wraps and basically been undercover as a regular lib, Idk. I’m not constantly shouting WORKERS OF THE WORLD UNITE everywhere, but being miffed at ableism was enough to cause problems anyway.

Liberals always bully by playing the victim. Let this be the first lesson of the next several thousand that you should never give them an inch.

I never do give em an inch cause fuck em, it’s also proof positive that no humanly feasible amount of “civility” liberalism will assuage their dishonest asses and they’ll always be up to their bullshit no matter what.

But also, because I take the good-faith rule from bear website many places in my life, I have engaged in DMs with the user from the second screencap, because A) I think their server is okay B) I dunno how much I have to lose by explaining my position in detail. See how it goes…

french canadian cyberpunk, surely the apex of liberalism

What does this mean? Does this mean, like, the game set in Montreal? Or just like a French Canadian perspective on the genre?
