Hey all, I’ve been casually playing battletech for… 30 years-ish? One thing I never put much thought into is what the hell are the numbers in the hexes for? Can someone enlighten me? Thanks!

Handy for playing remotely in the old days, like sending chess moves to each other E2-E4
If you need to stop playing for the day you can write down all the mech positions and finish the game later.
