Okay, I’ll go ahead and stir this pot. How close to 100% sure do you think is acceptable to be to convict someone if this is the punishment, and, are you comfortable with that one in a million person being you? I agree that a true violator of the above is not worth the resources to keep them alive, but consider that planted photographs, or a false rape claim by a crazy or vindictive person could see you being slowly skinned alive with vise grips over the course of 24 hours.

Edit: Green Day’s Boulevard of Broken Dreams is playing on a loop at any audible volume the whole time.

The government just shouldn’t have the right to kill its citizens. Because the government is not flawless and even one mistaken murder is too many. And when someone is put to death when not having committed any crime, it is murder.

This is why I specified proven, as in without a doubt, with real evidence. I’ll never back down from my views on this as a victim of crime.

I’m sorry to be the Bad News Bear, but unfortunately, outside the realm of pure math, there is no absolute proof, and all evidence can be either misunderstood, or outright fabricated. I could I ask one of these new fangled AI engines to make me a 4K video that resembles security camera footage of Mikhail Gorbachev stabbing Elmo to death in a 7-Eleven, and it’s becoming harder and harder to determine if it was generated or actually recorded.
