Y’all haven’t seen the '97 Prelude in a while. I had plans for it, but life got in the way. And the holidays. Those really snuck up on me. But the car runs perfectly fine. It’s pretty mechanically sorted, just looks rough.

We sold our '19 Accord to my sister-in-law and bought the Sequoia a month after I bought the Prelude. It’s a Platinum. With the JBL system, subwoofer, DVD player, and 4 disc changer. Cooled seats are nice on warm days and power folding mirrors are critical for getting it in the garage. We’ve taken it to Austin and Galveston (5 and 7 hours away) and it’s the most comfortable I’ve ever been on road trips. We also regularly cram ourselves and my in-laws in it. It’s so cool having everyone together. My only complaint is that the 5.7 is thirsty. The good things are gas is cheap right now, and we don’t plan to do lots of driving in it for a while. I’ve managed to get it to crack 20 mpg a couple times. Most of the time, it hangs in the neighborhood of 15-18.

I’ve mentioned the 9th gen Civic a time or two. In March 2020, that car had 118,000 on it. It’s been my daily driver the whole time, and I still only manage to put ~4k a year on it. It’s even less now because the Prelude kinda became my daily in summer. Didn’t intend on that, but the car is so fun that I can’t keep my hands off it. It’s been soaking up a lot of miles the Civic would have taken on.

That Civic sat out in a flood and a major hailstorm. It had the windshield replaced and has had no major issues since. I did the math. When my 10 year old niece turns 16, that car will will have fewer than 150,000 miles on it. She might get it since it’s basically worthless, fairly safe, rust-free (as far as we know), and great on gas. It’s been bounced around the family so it’d be kinda funny if the car she rode in as a baby is the one she got to drive as a teen. As for my Prelude, it’ll take another 15½ years to get it to 300,000 with as little as I drive anymore. My wife is about to start working from home so the Sequoia (the one she drives daily) is about to do a lot of sitting too.
