@BackOnMyBS at least in my town down there they got “aguilas” or spotters. If you take a bus down there, they will immediately spot you off the bus and follow you to see who you are. They then figure out what your business is and maybe how much money there’s in between. Then they probably try to figure out who they can extort to get them to pay ransom for you. Or maybe you got the money and they will take you gramma and as for ransom. It’s just such a no go country for anyone right now.

@BackOnMyBS even if you can escape to the US like I did by just shear luck and a ton of work, you still can’t easily sell your house. Currently, and I know this from personal family experience, if you sell your house in Mexico you get very easily Targeted. Here in the US, you get mailers from the renewal by Anderson folks and the Jehovah’s witness club down the street. In Mexico you get kidnapped, taped, tortured etc just so you will turn your profit to some cartel people. It’s awful.

@BackOnMyBS well if you are American like me, you can work your butt off to buy a house one day. If you don’t like the neighborhood, you can actually sell your house and move. Ofcourse this means you will pay 5% and 10% that to the realtor, and the bank and uncle sam…do you are basically setting your self up for highway robbery when you sell. But in Mexico, you can be born to a family that has a house or you can build one on your dad’s land. You can’t easily sell. Certainly you can’t escape.

@MicroWave although, as a former Mexican of the brown persuasion I see it as a form or prison. Plus you too can get kidnapped down there. Or worse. I would let things settle down for a few million years.

@MonsiuerPatEBrown some of us #Mexican American people, as you know, can simply go 💨 puff at the slightest pressure from a 🖋️🖊️ during the act of signing. So it requires a very special kind of notary public to make sure that indeed it was me the entire time! With each and every letter just keeping track of my pulse and pupil size. If you sweat, you might be a criminal? Or suddenly you are the neighbor? Or the mechanic? So only 1 person can do this. And he isn’t available for a year or more.

@MonsiuerPatEBrown yeah, a notary public in the US is as. Easy to find as a McDonald’s. A #notary public in Mexico is like a needle in a haystack. From what I understand, they gotta take your letter and actually retype it like total retards. You say “I want an apple”, they say “the aforementioned person inquires to the ability of possession and apple” but fuck if I wanted that, I would have had a lawyer write the letter…so I did. Anyway then I sign and they watch carefully to make sure I’m me!

@tst123 how about more people to help with power of attorney letters here in the #seattle #Mexican #consulate?.. I applied for such a thing back in March and it’s now September! WTF! I literally need a Mexican person who is a notary public to watch me sign a paper and have him stamp it and then stamp his own record of the event. That’s like less than 60 seconds worth of work. And it’s not just me. Hundreds of Mexicans living remotely are waiting for this. Useless government in Mexico no change

@MicroWave let that #sink in… #owning a house means nothing more than just #renting for a long time. Like your family doesn’t end up owning that #house forever. The #government makes sure you’ll run out of #money and will have to #sell it #eventually.
