Yes but it’s a human being you don’t have to pay a living wage, or listen to it complain it wants let put of the office to see it’s family.

I use privacy.com, free service, let’s you create a virtual card for each subscription, then pause or cancel a card.
This way if I cancel Netflix I can also pause the card, if they try and bill be it’d be processed as a failed transaction.
Free teir only let’s you make 6 cards / month but after a couple months you should be able to get everything moved over.
(Also cards are locked to the vendor so if the card gets compromised it can’t be used anywhere else)
Oh it’s a docker server, and can import existing files.
This is exactly what I was looking for.
Got a link to the program your using? I had used playon.tv when I got their $40 lifetime license, then they decided people only live 6 years.
So I’m hoping to find a way to link up the meta data for all my already downloaded and keep up with new videos.
(Currently at 30k YouTube recordings)
Not an expert, but Firefox with the duckduckgo extension does alright.
It’ll try and block most trackers and data collection, let’s you know what it’s not able to block, and gives you a simple letter grade to tell you how data safe the site your on is.
They also have a browser app for android.
Also no browser or VPN will keep you truly safe if you post personal or identifiable info into a site while using the VPN or browser it’ll all get vacuumed up.
It still makes the data of the local network your on more secure.
I.e. using your phone on public wifi at Starbucks, your data is encrypted and obfuscated so anybody on the public wifi can’t see your data.
Yeah your traffic still looks like it’s coming from your home network but it’s a free and secure way to protect yourself on other networks.
Plus like others have said it’s handy to have access to your home network at times.
Should also look I to ombi, it can tie into your jellyfish server to see what you already have, and you can have it send requests to sonarr if you find something new.
(Also has user management so family / friends can see what you got or submit requests)
Musk is somebody who is used to running a startup, where if you fire everybody and shut down operations for a couple years while government subsides and pre-orders are happy to wait 6 years for things to actually be delivered.
It doesn’t work for a business that needs to remain operational.
Alot of companies announced layoffs, it was typically only 2-7% of their workforce. Elon laid off 75%+
And yes, a lot of his actions are necessary moves. He needed a transition plan
Same, I wonder if it’ll still function without internet, I’d just get a chromecast key or something on the HDMI. And just not connect the TV itself to the internet.
Granted it probably has some kind of contract that you get charged if you don’t play the ad’s
Some make the argument that batteries are already replaceable if you get the right tools, but it’s not even a matter of making it possible.
I think it’s more about making it so you aren’t voiding your warranty and that the option is there.
Otherwise you replaced your battery and they decide they will never offer any support for your phone because you dared touch it.
Not to say his steps aren’t ones that should be taken, it’s the ways and means that alot of people are taking issue with.
When he took over Twitter it was unprofitable, and the steps he’s taking are ones that would be recommended for alot of struggling startups. But not for a major buisness.
Elon is used to moving quickly and breaking things often, as with a startup it’s fine if there are disruptions for a while or take years to become profitable.

(Messaging from mastodon server) I think so too. Your posts may not follow, but the freedom to move from one server to another, and the freedom to follow posts and info from other servers means if threads wants me to join they’d need make the experience better than anywhere else, or I can leave and still follow anybody I was following before.

The mining isn’t based on transactions, the mining is set to target a 10 minute block time, the difficulty changes based on how much mining capacity there is.
If a block takes less than 10 minutes the difficulty goes up. If it takes more the difficulty goes down.
Each block has a maximum capacity of 2500 transactions, which is why gas is used to prioritize who gets added in a block.
There have been many blocks with zero transactions.
