Yeah studios are frequently shut down en masse on one day for long term goals. It has nothing to do with a single quarter revenue
Stick with what obviously worked? Nahhh
Oh, the number one game that gamers want to buy. But yeah I guess what other hopes do they have
Confidence isn’t about being confident but acting confident. Act confident and life will be a lot easier.
It’s their next update, it’s been a long road to 1.0 but the game is finally feeling complete. They’ve announced the next update will be 1.0, and it’s expected this year.
Satisfactory for me personally, I enjoy factorio but I like the first person vibe more
This really sucks, but we do know it’s a cat and mouse game. AI/coded, doesn’t matter, it’s pattern recognition. It’s only a matter of time until someone figured out how to change the pattern in a way that isn’t detected.
I am shocked.
I always think about total of games purchased / 12 for a per month. If I buy 1 AAA game every 3 months, that’s 4 $60 games, about $20 a month. I’d say Game Pass is going above that. Argument could be made that there are games you wouldn’t otherwise buy… but eh?
Come on folks, dump game pass!
Unfortunately it’s mostly parents just paying for their kids so they don’t have to think about it
“Hogwarts Legacy did spectacularly… so obviously we should u-turn and do the exact opposite”.
How do these people get into these positions? Fuck I bet I could lead their games division better than them.
Step 1? Fucking more DLC for Hogwarts Legacy, that game should be printing money for them.
Step 2? New Lord of the Rings MMO. Jesus how is this not being done, ESO is ageing, people would just give money to something like this.
There, two ideas that would literally make millions. Can I have a yacht now please?
He seemed to casually ignore that at the end of the tunnel was still the concept of an offramp with a 25mph street that everyone was funneling to.
Of course he never planned on building it anyway. It was all just to distract from California High Speed Rail, because that directly gets in his way of selling more cars.
Half of those meetings are business MBAs asking “Why isn’t more getting done on this project?”
Homer, look here, this could save your life someday.

I thought, yes we can. I said, look, just give us four years, proper finance, give us the chance Mass Effect has, Skyrim has, the games at the time. They’re getting four years and a lot of budget. Give us that, and we’ll give you something that’ll get you your players. Nah, you’ve had three shots and you’ve only tripled the money. It’s not good enough. Fuck off. That’s what I was annoyed about.
Fuck man, that’s like, summing up my entire corporate career right there. I want to buy this man a beer, I feel this so hard.
hm, when we cut funding the games don’t do very well. I guess we better cut funding.
Seriously is this No Child Left Behind but for video games?
Let it be known, of your company is being bought by big tech, start polishing that resume. You officially have max one year of employment, that’s how long it takes for the SEC to back down and not pay much attention. As soon as they’re in the clear, you’re out.
Nobody should trust gcp. They decommission products left and right and half of their products are in perma beta
