You’re kinda skipping over a few things as well as something the previous comment mentioned.

1. Weather. I live in a pretty big metro area that has freezing cold winters and sweltering hot summers (with high humidity).
2. Cargo space is definitely something to think about. There are a lot of families that have to drive to a store for a family’s amount of food for the week
3. Long distances to get to anything in the suburbs amplifies issues 1 and 2 (including usually no pubic transportation to help)
4. The previous commenter mentioned they don’t want a giant SUV and just want an affordable electric car.

All these things are a reason cars are a huge necessity in most of the US. Yes, getting to an area where we can all mostly use 2 wheels would be great, but we should recognize that doing better is a great step forward instead of shooting it down because it’s not perfect.

I say all this as a person who works from home so I don’t have to worry about a commute, has a small car for necessary trips, and does my best avoid unnecessary driving and makes sure to carpool at every opportunity.

To add to this, I didn’t buy premium pass that came with either the extra warbond unlocked or 1000 SC (can’t remember which), and I have 140 hours in the game and have unlocked every warbond with earned SC (I have almost 1700 in the bank as well). If you run 2 and 3’s you’ll farm them up pretty easily

Also they have weird behind the scenes integrations into accounts even if they are just supposed to be regular 2FA. You can read stories about Twitch not playing well with other 2FA until 30 days after you remove Authy. I feel like it depends on where you are for sure. Any time I’m in the STL area I always see tons of expired temp tags. They can start cracking down at any time but a month isn’t very long. Not telling you to break the law, but I would take the risk personally, but would always tell people to do what the rules say.

The idea of antiwork isn’t bad though. We should use anything and everything we can to utilize automation to allow people to live with as little work as possible. Is that a reality today, no. Can it be a reality in the future, maybe. Things will need maintenance and upkeep, people will want to innovate and try to build new things, etc. But that doesn’t mean we can’t work on things like UBI, free housing, free medicine, free education, etc.

The idea of heading that direction is (what I understood) the main goal. We’re just going to need to take steps to get there and changing the terrible labor practices we currently have became step 1 and thus a majority of the focus in the subreddit.

Grief affects people differently.
