I’ve been told many times that hearing it from a white person is very unpleasant for many black people. Maybe it doesn’t bother you, but I kind of doubt you speak for a majority of black people, so I’ll keep trying to err on the side of not offending people. I know I don’t like being called a racial slur, even though all the ones for white people are very tame and lack any serious historical baggage.

My dad is almost one of the the people FlyingSquid talking about; he’s a Democrat and kind of racist, but he doesn’t see himself as a racist. Someone like a more Republican version of my dad might be persuaded to vote for Harris, or at least not vote for Trump, if the Trump campaign gets too nasty.

Don’t forget that magats aren’t the only people who would potentially vote for Trump; a lot of people are swing voters who, for some reason, have a hard time deciding who to vote for. Neither candidate can win without appealing to a majority of those voters.

What a jackass. A new future for conservatism is an oxymoron. It makes a lot more sense when you read “conservatism” as a euphemism for authoritarianism.

I think he cares more about humiliation than almost anything else, and he sees winning as the only way to avoid not only the humiliation of losing the election but also the humiliation of facing any consequences at all for his many crimes.

He doesn’t care if you value your life; all he cares about is what you can do for him, and he clearly sees disabled people as useless.
