Government, corporate, and celebrities haven’t budged. That’s the problem. I left about 2 weeks after the blue checks started getting pushed to the top of comments. Those blue-checklefucks are trash.

I love Moto actions. The twist for camera, the shake for flashlight are both awesome. Too bad they don’t seem to use AMOLED screens anymore. I’m on Pixel 6, but held onto my Moto Z, first Gen, for as long as I could.

James Fucking Comey certainly didn’t help.

He is leaving the company to Lachlan, who is pure trash just like the walking corpse. James publicly appears a little better than his family, but I still wouldn’t trust him:

Just cut her off. Tell her the truth, watch her throw a fit, and be done with it. I’m not sure what you’re getting out of this friendship besides discomfort and deception. NTA.

I am a heavy ex-Twitter user who left when the blue checks went wild. I have substituted it with Mastodon/Post/Spoutible. Yes, all three. Less than than half the people I followed are on any of them combined, but it still has some people I like to hear opinions from. I’ll never go back to Twitter, and it’s weird not seeing all the alt-right freaks on any of those other platforms. But really, it’s been good for me to not get into the useless arguments I used to inevitably fall into with those people.

Nice hyperbole. No, I don’t feel enslaved. Give me a fucking break. Enslaved, really? Be the fucking change you want to see, if you are feeling “enslaved.”

The issue with the corporate internet is that running large websites cost money. The larger the community, the more costs it takes to run. The balance between moderation and a free-for-all is delicate. Fully open allows too much spam and trolling to still remain useful, too much and people start writing in code to bypass censors. You want to go back to seedy chatrooms with a couple dozen regulars, I’m sure you can still find a few places to scratch that itch.

Federation is a great concept, and we’ll see where it goes, but social media splintering from a Twitter/Meta/Reddit stranglehold to a more splintered collection of sites has both advantages and disadvantages. On one hand, when everyone is in one place, you get a lot of idiots. On the other, you have to go to multiple places to find everyone/everything you’re looking for. Seems a lot of people like the ease of one-stop-shopping, so that’s how we got here.
