As a 911 operator, I hate the SOS function and it has just gotten worse. Between this and the “car crash” detection, I spend 40% of my work day tracking down false alarms, often at the expense of using resources for actual emergencies. If I ever meet the person who decided to turn on the SOS function by default, I’m going to punch them squarely in the nose.
I hope so. It’ll be fun to watch.

As a full-time linux user since 2005 and a guy who swears every time he has to use a windows machine now, the Windows phone was actually really good. It had very few apps available and it certainly never took off commercially, but my girlfriend had one back in the day and it was a surprisingly nice piece of work.
I have no doubts that if it had gained traction and still been around today that it would be absolutely unusable.
I strangely went the opposite way on that, I liked them as a kid but find them too sour now.

Am I understanding right that you only have the address to look for? You don’t know your gggfather’s name? If you know his name it would be easier to search for that rather than trying to page through all of Milwaukee looking for his address.
Here’s the tricky part: the street numbering system changed in Milwaukee during the period from 1929 to 1931. Bad timing for the census, for sure. If you’re looking at a document from a cemetery showing the individual’s last residence, they would use the numbering system that existed at the time of the document’s creation, which is not the same as the numbering that existed in 1928. Today 3511 North 37th street still exists, and it’s between Nash and Keefe streets. This shows the changes in street numbering that took place over that two year span. What ended up as 3501 used to be 1540. So that’s why your addresses in the censuses you looked at were closer to 1500. I don’t know exactly what number 3511 will translate to, but it’s going to be something greater than 1540, probably not very much higher than that. In modern-day Milwaukee there’s only one building between 3501 (which we know was 1540 in the census) and 3511. If you find 1540, the house you’re looking for is probably just two entries after that one.
Oh, just in case they don’t do this in your country, I should note something: when you’re walking down a street in the US, the buildings on one side of the street will have even numbered addresses and the buildings on the other side will have odd numbered addresses. So if you see odd numbered addresses on the census, those will be on the wrong side of the road and you’ll know they are not the one you’re looking for.

The Supreme Court struck down a similar law in 2002. Ashcroft v. Free Speech Coalition, 535 U.S. 234. The Child Pornography Prevention Act of 1996 prohibited “any visual depiction, including any photograph, film, video, picture, or computer or computer-generated image or picture” that “is, or appears to be, of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct”.
I haven’t seen or read the language of this Louisiana law, and presumably intelligent law-makers would be aware that a law with a similar intent has been ruled unconstitutional, so maybe they changed enough so that this one will hold up.
I migrated from Evernote to Joplin because Evernote started charging. I migrated from Joplin because the sync was problematic and wasn’t working correctly for me.
My biggest uses are my recipe collection, my bookmarks list, and where I keep notes and roadmaps for my personal hobby projects. I don’t use it anywhere even close to its full potential. Links, for example, are nothing that I use and I can’t find a compelling reason to do so. I use almost no formatting either. I do use tags, tho. I really don’t need something with as much power as this has.

If your purpose for using cash or Monero is privacy, that’s fine. If your purpose is to avoid paying fees to third parties just for the privilege of paying by a certain method, the swap service just takes the place of Visa/Mastercard.
