Personally I like the PDX style where it’s “turn based” but the turns happen rapidly enough to feel like an RTS, and you can pause them at any time.
Mount and Blade (Warband, WFAS, and Bannerlord) is another that I would say puts a unique spin on RTS. You are down on the ground with your troops and need to give orders like when to have certain troop groups attack, retreat, change formation, etc. You have the opportunity for your own skill as a fighter to matter, but once the battles reach a certain size, it becomes far more important to have a tactical advantage than to just be good at fighting yourself.
Especially when you are that predecessor
No, just a misplaced comma. “What is your field of study’s most complex unanswered question?”
“Do you think your opinion about pineapple on pizza is a personality trait? 'Cause I sure don’t”
When I read the title, my first guess was Tarare. Sounds like the kind of thing he’d’ve done if planes had been invented.
I don’t have a dedicated torrent machine. I sometimes use my phone. Sometimes my gaming PC. Sometimes my TV’s PC.
I’d love to see it, but as I said, I don’t like letting perfect be the enemy of good. Banning Tiktok is a good thing IMO. I’m not going to complain that it shouldn’t be done just because there is more work to do.
The correct way of saying it out loud is “pop exclamation point underscore O S”
It’s nothing really. Heathcliff is a trash comic. The “jokes” are barely jokes. Maybe 1 in 20 get so much as an exhale out of me, let alone actual laughter.
I agree, but part of the issue is also that this app is operating in bad faith with local laws, so trying to regulate their behaviour is an uphill battle. They just ignore fines or find ways of hiding their bad behaviour better. Obviously they aren’t the only ones that do so, but I’m not going to complain about one shitty company getting what’s coming to them.
English and French fluently. English is my mother tongue. French I learned in an immersion program in primary school. I didn’t study french at all in highschool or postsecondary, and always hated it during primary because my parents put me in immersion to “challenge” me. I started working for the Canadian federal government after uni, and they have pretty robust training programs for getting to full french fluency from any starting skill level. Plus, there’s a bit of a glass ceiling for monolingual public servants in the federal government.
Recently started dating a Chinese girl and so I’m trying to teach myself a bit of Chinese. It’s not as hard as I expected it to be, but it is very hard. In many ways it’s the opposite experience of learning French relative to English. Learning French, the vocabulary is pretty easy and the grammar is very hard. Learning Chinese, the grammar is dead easy but the vocabulary is really hard.
Make them in the image of their ancestors
At its core its as bad as china’s grasp on a lot of markets.
The government should be allowed to regulate markets as much as necessary to protect citizens from the dangers of capitalism. Laissez-Faire doesn’t work.
That question stopped being humourous about 200 dating app profiles ago for me.
