They are using far more of the courts, currency, and infrastructure than we are. They are getting police protection of their property instead of having their pets murdered. They are getting massive government handouts that we are not.

I was thinking of the wrong election. When the state gets sued over votes and those votes just so happen to be erased, that is suspicious af. But that wasn’t 2018. Kemp wasn’t running in the election where GA wiped the hard disks, but he was in charge at the time.
The 2018 election where he was able to remove voters from the registry and close poll sites is just standard conflict-of-interest, I suppose.
I’m worried about voting machine fraud when there is no paper trail, since that is how Kemp stole an election and got away with it.
The people pushing for same day and only that day with all votes counted that day just ignore the logistics and practicality of having people vote.

It is actually possible to have a cryptographic structure that allows independent verification of the counts. Of course we will never have that because Repubs prefer buggy ES&S machines. (IIRC those are also the ones Kemp used to rig elections in GA.)

I believe the “atomic” action is updating the kernel and all the base packages together such that either the whole thing succeeds or the existing system is unchanged. If the system update is atomic, you cannot be stuck in a partially updated state with new versions of some packages and previous versions of others. Naturally something like that lends itself to making rollbacks easier if it does break, much easier than trying to undo an update on a more traditional distro where they do the update in place.
I tried to install Win 10 in a VM recently and it spend hours updating after installing from the ISO. Also you have to turn off the internet to not create a Microsoft account? What a pain it is now.
