  • It often appears that way in children, but obviously isn’t an actual indicator of intelligence.

ADD discussions are full of the self diagnosed and people who are in wildly different positions on the ADD scale. Naturally a lot of people look for identity and it’s a thing to latch onto.

So you were told you were smart constantly as a kid, or you have some ADD features and get the whole “ADD is my super power” people.

Some with ADD also get that impulsivity issue around other people and make themselves look like bigger jackasses than they generally are.

  • Genuine question, how accurate are Tazers? If the partner was in a headlock, was there any risk of tazering the wrong person while the gum was more accurate?

Speaking independently of the story- Not very by comparison to firearms. Something like 50% less accurate. There’s also the issue that tasers will not always incapacitate someone. That’s a gamble if someone has a weapon and the range to use it.

Part of the rationale in using a firearm is the need to body someone before they can use a weapon where non lethal methods are just not as effective.

Of course, when you investigate yourself you will always find that you used your firearm in the appropriate situational context.

  • You’re looking at an audiobook as if it’s only a method of distributing the contents of a book, but a human conveying a story is a performance. Those performances have artistic merit. Sometimes more, sometimes less, different take aways for different listeners, however it’s an inherent symptom of a human being sharing something.

This is where it gets important to remember that Machine Learning isn’t actually AI. It cannot make decisions or have accidents outside of mistakes made by the developers. It is not intelligent, it is a computer program.
