  • I love Connect more with every update!

I’m not sure this is the place to put a question/request but I actually quite liked NSFW images being a single block of color. The blur is perfectly fine, but it would be nice to have an option for a color block over NSFW images. Part of the reason I switched to Connect from Jerboa is that Jerboa’s blur was so bad, I could see explicit things through it. Connect’s is much better, so it’s not necessary to get a color block option.

Anyway there’s my two cents. Thank you for all the work you’ve done on this app - it really is incredible to me how much has been done, and how well it works.

  • To be honest, the data collection was enough to keep me on Connect instead of Sync. With that being said, I was excited for the release of Sync. It wasn’t my primary app on Reddit, but having developers for Lemmy apps is great, and the developers who had successful Reddit apps already have a solid idea of what to do. Sync is not finished, so there are valid complaints to be made! But it also already looks more polished than Connect in many ways, in my opinion.

In terms of the price point, I don’t actually think it’s unreasonable. There’s a one-time lifetime purchase available, and as I understand it the app is being developed by a single developer trying to support himself. I get that the price might be outside of some people’s casual spending range, but luckily there’s a free version with ads (and many, many other free apps without).

  • There was a post recently about NSFW tags possibly not federating properly, and I wonder if that might be what you’re running into.

In terms of a real, solid solution, I don’t know what the best course of action is. But as a band-aid solution, you could try an app that allows for in-app server blocking. Lemmy itself doesn’t allow users to block an entire server, but Connect at least (and probably others) allow it on the app side. But it wouldn’t help on anything other than the app, so it’s definitely not the ideal solution.
