Cancel culture has nothing to do with free speech. One is people deciding not to support a company. The other is the government threatening to steal more of a companies money if that company doesn’t silence a person.
True that Cancel Culture has nothing to do with the 1st Ammendment, but my point was that regardless of whether you use the common misunderstood definition of “free speech” or the actual legal definition of the constitutionally protected right, conservatives are happy to trample over both when it suits their purposes and in no way can be called “supporters of free speech” in good faith.
