Good signing for both parties. I hope she’s able to spend some time in NXT before the main roster.

In retrospect, was giving Jade the “Goldberg” treatment worth it for AEW?

I think it was. Statlander pinning her was huge in a way it never would have been if she wasn’t undefeated, and in the meantime, she was a solid attraction for them and really established the TBS title as something meaningful.

Very good point. And kudos to Jade for putting her over on exit (and putting on a show too. That match was solid).

In the era of NXT, it’s fairly common. They had a press conference when Asuka joined, and posted an article when Andrade signed.

Thanks for that info! I started watching that era of NXT a bit later, so I missed that. Between a press conference and that awesome first appearance of Asuka, they really knew they had someone important, huh.

So long as they don’t rush her to the main roster I think this has potential, she needs to learn how to work that WWE style because I think it just fits her.

Working with people with a similar style is helpful, it’s why you usually wouldn’t put a Rey Mysterio in with a Big Show, it works sometimes but you wouldn’t want to see it a lot. I think she still has a bit of learning she can do and I just think being in the WWE system working with others that do WWE’s paint-by-numbers style is better for her for now.
