Now this is weird, since last week was the first showing of that X-files spin-off “The Lone Gunmen” in Austalia. The plot of the first one was that some government group was going to fly a plane into the World Trade Centre. Life imitates art?

For those of you who don’t know: the plot of the first episode of The Lone Gunman is specifically that the military industrial complex are existentially threatened by the potential of a long peace at the end of history, and so hatch a plan to remotely take control of airliners and crash them into the WTC and then blame it on anti-western terrorists.

I think that’s less of a spooky coincidence, than just a demonstration about how fucking obvious the potential of something like a 9/11 attack was, and how Captial would take advantage of the fallout of any such event to benefit itself. And we can see on literally the day of the attack, that SA forum shitposters understood that as well - a lot of these posts are ruminating on how these attacks are going to be taken advantage of to advance nefarious ends.

There’s that Serbian song by a band called Serbian Taliban singing about 9/11 a year before 9/11 happened. I think to certain corners of the globe, it was really obvious a 9/11 was going to happen.
