It’s all well, and good for them to decide for themselves not to have IVF. It’s a whole other matter for them to decide what medical procedures other people have.

Well, they can shove it right up their own asses because those aren’t my beliefs, nor do I align with their religion or any for that matter. It’s funny how a small minority is able to dictate what’s legal and what’s not based on their own religious beliefs.

Republicans will try to hedge at first, or some will, but 95% will get in line opposing IVF in order to placate and secure support from a powerful faction within the Republican base.

That’s a given, unfortunately. Most will say they’re against it, but when push comes to shove, they’ll still support these types of policies.

I don’t have a dog in this fight but I understand that some people are incapable of traditional pregnancy and rely on IVF, they’re probably going to feel some kinda way about this. I don’t believe in taking away any rights, in fact I think there’s room for a few more in this country.

Of course you have a dog in this fight, or you will at some point. Sooner or later these people will go after some right that you value personally.

Those people should definitely be parents. They’re willing to dedicate a shit load of effort, time, and money to having a child. We should be helping those who rely on IVF as much as we can, they’re going to crush it once they have a kid to take care of.

That’s just inconvenient consistency. It won’t win them any supporters but you have to be anti ivf if you believe zygotes or embryos have the same rights as full human beings.

I think a zygote has as much of an essential human character as my big toenail does, but at least they’re being consistent.
