Why do they all seem to think scribbling on a diagonal all over it somehow makes whatever they wrote “official”?

Actually the important part is that it’s written in red ink, the diagonal angle is meaningless on its own. You would know this if you had read the Magna Carta instead of just watching a YouTube video of someone summarizing it.

A lot of the ideas they have don’t seem to have any reason for them, like the diagonal writing and red thumbprint. They’re just a loosely associated group of weirdos doing this via word of mouth so it’s hard to pin down the reasons for everything.

Seems also like writing the total amount underneath the “Amount Enclosed” box instead of inside it is supposed to mean something special.

My best guess is that official stamps are often at an angle. Of course it is not magic, it is just the stamping person not caring too much about right angles.

Part of the conspiracy theory is that the IRS has a trust account for all the sovereign citizens the so-called government purchased against their will upon birth. If you do your magic paperwork right, then you can draw down against it. This is perfectly reasonable and moral. They’re doing their best to make sure Discover gets paid, dammit!!!

If they’re going to write gibberish, they could’ve at least done us a favour and written it somewhere where it’s actually legible. I can barely read the red diagonal text aside from them being somehow exempt from the levy - and we all know your debts just poof away if you just say “no thanks”

He’s got his red ink and 45° angle there. I don’t see what the problem is? Maybe he should have used a sharpie.

What could that $1,038.85 have bought in 1 month, except fifty points off your credit score? These people torture themselves (and the call center reps) over borrowing relatively small amounts of money with staggering penalty and other fees. It’s like getting a title loan with more steps. Is it a cry for the attention and structure in life that their fathers never gave them?

Have you shown this person videos of sovereign citizens trying this against cops on the side of the road, or in court?

Having taken part in an effort to talk some sense into someone who was bound and determined on a self-destructive course with his life, I think the chance of success is small but nonzero. And, his brain might hearken back to it at whatever future point he inevitably starts experiencing physical in person consequences, and it might help him get out of the cycle at that point, even if nothing good happens before then.

No I’m in these groups because they think I’m one of them lol. Sometimes I give them bogus advice. They’re honestly really shitty people.
