Is there anything different besides a shorter dust cover on the front of the lower? It seems like Glock is making the 47.5 the de-facto replacement for the 17.5 MOS, which they aren’t producing anymore.

It’s basically the same thing. The 47 was designed to spec as a duty weapon for CBP, but they’ve made it available to consumers.
