I wonder if Peter Navarro listened to Michael Cohen’s testimony. I know Ron Johnson and Pete Sessions did; they were there.

My loyalty to Mr. Trump has cost me everything, my family’s happiness, friendships, my law license, my company, my livelihood, my honor, my reputation, and soon my freedom … So to those who support the President and his rhetoric, as I once did, I pray the country doesn’t make the same mistakes that I have made, or pay the heavy price that my family and I are paying.

Nobody was holding a gun to his head. How many opportunities did he have to stop? He helped bring about the current state of affairs.

True, by all accounts he was a corrupt asshole doing the bidding of some very bad people. That being said, he was held responsible by the courts, served time in prison, and since then he appears to be making all possible attempts to do the right thing and make amends for the shit he pulled.

We need to be a little more willing to recognize when people have changed their ways, especially considering all the other people in his orbit who have clearly not changed. When people make a good-faith effort to be better, we should give them a chance. He has admitted the things he did and has worked pretty damn hard to show the public what actually happened. I deeply respect that, while also not forgetting the crimes he committed and the damage he did.

I had to stop reading the article here:

"There is nothing in Senators Johnson and Grassley’s reports on Biden family corruption that has ever proven to be untrue,” the spokesperson said. “

This is the kind of nonsense we have to legitimately call out. The accusations need to be proven true in the first place. The spokesperson is especially silly since they also called Parnas statements a lie… Without providing proof themselves.

While I love a cute, alliterative smear as much as the next person, they’re not “pinkos”, as they’re not communists. But they, certainly, are Filthy Fucking Fifth-Columnists.

The “Red Scare” brought us terms like “Pinko” to describe individuals and groups that weren’t communists but did support them. The term seemed fitting for the current GOP.

Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy.

Overall, we rate the Heritage Foundation Right Biased based on conservative policy positions and funding from right-leaning organizations. We also rate them Mixed for factual reporting due to promoting misleading claims regarding global warming and the health dangers associated with tobacco.

              History

The Heritage Foundation, founded in 1973 by Joseph Coors (Coors Brewery), is an American conservative think tank based in Washington, D.C. The foundation took a leading role in the conservative movement during the presidency of Ronald Reagan, whose policies were taken from Heritage’s policy study Mandate for Leadership.  Heritage has since continued to significantly influence U.S. public policymaking and is considered one of the most influential conservative research organizations in the United States.

The Heritage Foundation has been described as a major influence on the presidential transition of Donald Trump and the Trump administration. The foundation had a powerful say in the administration’s staffing, with CNN noting during the transition that “no other Washington institution has that kind of footprint in the transition.”

The Heritage Foundation also publishes the conservative news website Daily Signal.

Read our profile on the United States government and media.

              Funded by / Ownership

The Heritage Foundation is a tax-exempt 501©(3) organization. Heritage’s initial fundingwas provided by Joseph Coors, of the Coors beer empire, and Richard Mellon Scaife, heir of the Mellon industrial and banking fortune. The Heritage Foundation provides current financial information that you can view here. The Heritage Foundation currently receives funding through individual donations as well as grants from conservative organizations such as the Koch Family Foundations, Marlboro cigarette manufacture’s parent company Altria and the Bradley Foundation.  The Wall Street Journal also reportedthat between 1993 and 1996, heritage received almost $1 million from the Korea Foundation, which reportedly “serves as a direct conduit of money from the South Korean government.” A look at campaign donations by Heritage shows that 96%, since 1990, have gone to Republican candidates and causes.

              Analysis / Bias

In review, The Heritage Foundation website does not report straight news but rather provides commentary by conservative writers. Typically, there is minimal use of loaded language such as this: Green New Deal Would Barely Change Earth’s Temperature. Here Are the Facts. They also provide in-depth research such as this: Part I: Mental Illness, Firearms, And Violence. This report is sourced appropriately from a wide variety of credible sources. While this report minimizes the lack of gun restrictions as the culprit for gun deaths, it does provide an evidence-based conclusion that “Serious Mental Illness Plays a Significant Role in Violent and Firearm-Specific Crime that Should Not Be Ignored.”

The Heritage Foundation has been criticized for taking positions that are favorable to the tobacco industry as well as for blocking action on climate change.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Lev Parnas, a convicted former aide to Rudy Giuliani, named members of Congress Wednesday who he alleged were “doing the bidding” of Russia by attempting to dig up “dirt” on President Biden during his 2020 campaign.

At a GOP-led House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing titled “Influence Peddling: Examining Joe Biden’s Abuse of Public Office,” Parnas named Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Rep. Jeff Sessions (R-Texas) during his testimony as collaborators in their efforts.

), who asked Parnas how he and Giuliani were “able to take these false allegations, peddled by corrupt officials and Russian agents, and promote and amplify them here in the United States, in our political system.”

Sessions, Parnas continued, “was with me from the very beginning on this journey, into finding of the, giving dirt on Joe Biden.”

Parnas, who Democrats selected as a witness, was indicted on fraud and campaign finance crimes and was sentenced to 20 months in prison in 2022.

A grand jury then subpoenaed Sessions for documents about his relationship with Giuliani and the associates who were indicted.

The original article contains 481 words, the summary contains 175 words. Saved 64%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

I’m so glad he spoke out. This had to be awkward for those two idiots.

      And this part was sweet:

A grand jury then subpoenaed Sessions for documents about his relationship with Giuliani and the associates who were indicted.

Wish it’d be acceptable for people to call out reps/senators for “doing the bidding” of other countries too
