Hmm. I get what you’re saying, but our eyes are a massive weak spot. Not just in support of seeing, but those two squishy orbs are all that protects the eye socket and our brains beyond.
Yeah there’s a reason blind people wear sunglasses; retinal damage can be extremely dangerous, both UV and blunt trauma. Blindness also means you’re lacking the visual threat reflex (blinking/flinching) which can result in a buuunch of other stuff getting damaged, like even just the sinuses/breathey holes and breathey tubes cuz they’re literally right there.
I figured she did this so her allies could see it was her. Mouths and noses are harder to identify than Toph’s blind eyes.
Unless it had been explicitly discussed off-screen, how would she know this? Most sighted people don’t casually mention it, afaik
