Every time I tune my balisong, there is tap. If I tighten too hard then the handles become stiff. Is there a better technique or tips and tricks to achieve better resilts?

Edit: I find that it’s better to just tweak it in very small amounts. Still, if there’s a better technique to getting results in faster times, let me know. I’ve seen squidindustries’s videos on it and they seem to tune balisongs very quick.

It depends on the balisong. Do you know whether yours is on bushings, washers, or bearings?

Just to confirm, what brand/model is your balisong exactly?

If it is indeed only on washers (with no bushings) then tuning basically requires the use of loctite or Teflon tape. You can’t full crank screws on a washer balisong, so you have to partial crank to just before the handles start binding, and then “lock” the screw tension in place with either loctite or Teflon tape.

Yeah it’s a squidtrainer v.3.5. I figured out that I got to adjust it little by little. It seems to work pretty well right now. I followed squidindustries’s videos on it and they made it look really easy. Probably because they’ve been doing this for many years now.
