So why is palworld seemingly so much more successful? Niche games like these mean nothing if they don’t appeal to a broad enough audience to be successful. I would have initially said the same thing about palworld but now it’s the #1 game on steam of all time and in hindsight it is so easy to see why.

By my estimation, Digimon reached its peak in the zeitgeist back in 2000 with the movie. I’d say I’m pretty attuned to the Pokémon scene and TCG scenes and I haven’t heard of any of those new Digimon things you mentioned, haven’t seen any Digimon ads, products in stores, nothing. I’m not suggesting what you’re saying is untrue, just that you might be exaggerating Digimon’s significance in pop culture. Pal World is breaking records every day, it’s a new IP, and it’s bringing newcomers and veterans alike to the genre; it makes sense it’s getting a lot of publicity.

    • “Niche games mean nothing”

Digimon is niche to you? The multimedia giant with multiple shows, frequent game releases, merchandise and even a card game which blew up in the TCG scene? The vital bracelet? Digimon Survive? Everything???

Have you been living under a rock? Digimon had a huge resurgence in the last few years.
