Having read nothing else about this study, the writing in this article is enough for me to dismiss it.

The researchers provide a really fascinating hypothesis. They contend that when the brain “dies,” its brakes (or, for the more scientifically oriented, inhibitory processes) may relax. This would imply that we have access to memories from every stage of our lives, all of which have been morally assessed.

What does that even mean? Nothing.
