Going all-in on Nuclear now would also be terrible for the Climate. It’s 15 years of high-emissions before you even get the plant running, then it takes years to offset the carbon emissions generated during construction. A reactor that you start work on today won’t be carbon neutral until the 2050s, and we need emissions reduced by 2030.

Renewables are already the cheapest form of energy. Storage isn’t cheap enough, but it’s improving significantly every year. By the time a nuclear plant becomes carbon neutral (~2050), renewables + storage will be far more cost effective than nuclear.
