I love how people are just now realizing that more computers will require more energy and resources. But let’s add AI and track the shit out of everything and have each website to have a dozen servers to even look coherent, and put AI in cameras, cars and our toilets so we can look closer as we use up all our resources

To even write this, I’m using multiple servers and the text is for sure being data mined for AI/data science/whatever’s next so I’m adding to the problem by complaining

Like the concept but am growing tired of putting so much on the individual. The numbers would have to be in massive majority to replenish insects and plants compared to industrial farming having these same practices. Most people are too poor to have the space or the time to garden, much less research every plant and insect they see. With that being said, yes, please plant some more plants and and don’t kill insects unnecessarily

Lemmy does not remove exif data (unless the code has changed), you need to remove it yourself (also a good practice in general)

The internet is mostly dead IMO (dead internet theory came true) and splinternet is also happening/happened (TikTok ban is showing this in an obvious way), so other than the fediverse (mastodon, peertube, lemmy, etc) you might need to develop some new hobby to find entertainment around the web
