Isn’t it, though? Israel is illegally occupying Palestinian territory, violently displacing families who have lived there for generations, and installing their own sympathetic colonizers instead. The image isn’t a perfect metaphor, but it’s close enough that the parallel could easily be made.

The sad reality is that when it comes to war, the frontlines have no winners. And in this case, Israel’s front line happens to be civilians who capitalized on the free land being doled out by the government. What Hamas did was brutal, and I don’t think the Israelis who were living there deserved it. Hamas has been angry for a long time, and this was the pot finally boiling over.
