With the Reds win and the Brewers losing in 11 innings to the Cubs, the Reds are a game ahead of Milwaukee as we close in on the all star break. The weekend series against Milwaukee will be pivotal.

So I’ll put this here since I don’t want to create a whole thread to it.

Ownership went through a fire sale on the whole team. I was all on board the boycott. The Reds are my favorite team of any sport. I watched 50-60 games per year and would go 10+ times per year to Riverfront and GABP. One summer after high school I went to 28-30 games, sat in the bleachers, and painted my chest. Great memories.

After what the Castellinis did to the team it was an easy decision to jump ship and simply refuse to give them money, ratings, or any other support. Of course this negatively impacted the players that played no part in this.

Well once they started winning they immediately began selling out and became the hottest ticket in baseball.

I guess this is more of a vent that a question. I want to support the team but I’ve also watched very little of this team this year. How are y’all handling this? Am I just holding on to an outdated protest?

Honestly felt the same but this team is fun to watch. I still begrudge the Castellinis (fuck you Phil) but the team is winning and are a joy to watch. I catch a stream when I can and will be taking my kids to a game (maybe two).

I don’t think there’s a right answer. I’m just enjoying a team that is actually fun for the first time in a while.

For me, I held out even after ELDC’s first game. I’ve started watching again, and as much as want us to win the WS, a tiny part of me doesn’t want either Castellini to see success.

I guess I just decided that watching, listening, and going to the games would try to show the knuckleheads at the top that fans like when teams actually try to win.
