Further price cuts announced by Tesla.

Its really feeling like a “Death Spiral Sale”, like Sears, K-Mart, or Jos. A Bank. They never had “normal priced” stuff after that, everything was always on sale and the companies kept losing money… forcing more sales to get people back into the store, losing more money. Etc. etc.

At least in the USA, sales backfire in this way. When everyone sees lower-and-lower prices, we sit back and wait for the better deal as we know companies start getting in trouble. Why buy something at $2000 off when we know that in a few weeks, $3000 or $4000 off will come soon?

Or why buy a car from a company that won’t be around much longer to offer maintenance, technical support and software updates.

Ha! Joke’s on you. Tesla never really provided maintenance or service anyway. /s

Tesla won’t ever just pack up and disappear. They’ll either restructure or sell to another auto manufacturer.

There’s tons of reasons to not buy one, but it’s really unlikely you’ll be stuck without any way to repair your vehicle.

They’ll either restructure or sell to another auto manufacturer.

        Why?

There’s no tech Tesla has that anyone else wants. The only thing that people want are the brand name, the superchargers, and the factories.

I expect that Tesla will be picked apart piece by piece in a bankruptcy. No one made Delorians after that company folded.

Even then, the superchargers don’t make money and Elon is ruining the brand name. Even these might be worthless by the time Tesla reaches a bankruptcy scenario.

    1. make a good electric product
    2. skip some of the mistakes made by the big boys
    3. make $$$
    4. come out as an attention seeking right wing asshole
    5. ???
    6. death spiral

Somewhere in there throw in insist on being a founder even though you’re not, pull for a compensation package beyond all reason, and also gas lobby continues to convince conservatives that electric cars are for pussies thus leaving you no marker that doesn’t hate you

On boarder point “When everyone sees lower-and-lower prices, we sit back and wait for the better deal” describes why economists etc are so afraid of deflation.
