Cool armor. What does “Roman Imperial-era” mean? Does that refer to a specific period, or the whole time the Romans had an Empire?

‘Roman Empire’ is usually defined as 27 BCE (when the first Emperor came to power) to 395 AD (when the Empire split into the Western and Eastern Roman Empires). This particular style of armor was only around during that period.

It would have been more precise to say ‘Principate-era’ which covers 27 BCE-284 AD, when this armor type was most popular, but I didn’t know if that would have quite the same name recognition as ‘Imperial’, so I went with ‘Imperial-era’ in the title.

Is that iron, tin or actual steel? Or coated bronze?
